В статье анализируется эпизод, генетически восходящий к «разговору в царстве мертвых» из романа П.Л. Проскурина «Седьмая стража», в котором профессор-историк Вадим Одинцов вступает в полемику с Петром I. Этот фантастическая ситуация рассматривается как современная вариация архаичного жанра и как художественная историософская модель писателя, воссоздающая столкновение живого потомка с мертвым монархом. Особое внимание уделяется тому, как через спор Петра и Одинцова переосмысляется европейское преобразование России, формируется оценка личности Петра и его воздействие на историческую судьбу страны. Показано, что Проскурин вписывает образ Петра в широкий историко-культурный контекст, одновременно перепроверяя устойчивый миф о «великом преобразователе» России, актуализация которого была обусловлена начавшейся перестройкой и разрушением советской государственности.
The article analyzes an episode that is genetically related to the "conversation in the realm of the dead" from P.L. Proskurin's novel "The Seventh Watch", in hich the historian professor Vadim Odintsov engages in a debate with Peter the Great. This fantastical situation is examined as a modern variation of an archaic genre and as the writer's artistic historiosophical model, which recreates the encounter between a living descendant and a deceased monarch. Special attention is paid to how the European transformation of Russia is reinterpreted through the dispute between Peter and Odintsov, and how Peter's personality and his impact on the country's historical fate are evaluated. It is shown that Proskurin places Peter's image within a broader historical and cultural context, while simultaneously challenging the persistent myth of Russia's "great reformer", which was its actualization was caused by the beginning of perestroika and the destruction of Soviet statehood.
